Kath Egan’s practice is an ongoing enquiry into the materiality of the domestic and the endurance of the sacred. Through the meticulous assemblage of found objects, installation, video and photography, Egan deconstructs the boundaries between the utilitarian and the totemic. Her work navigates the slipstream between ancient spiritual traditions and contemporary sculptural discourse, invoking myth, ritual, and symbolism not as fixed histories, but as fluid frameworks for meaning. By recontextualising the familiar, Egan facilitates a primal dialogue with the natural world, questioning how we inhabit the space between the physical and the metaphysical.
