The Mezzanine Studio offers a versatile 5m x 4m workspace built specifically for focused project development.
The Mezzanine Workspace: Upstairs, your dedicated studio is a clean, white walled canvas. The dramatic 3m high ceiling slopes down to 2.2m, giving the room an spacious, architectural feel.
The Light & Landscape: An impressive, east-facing oversized window (standing 2.7m high by 1.5m wide) allows fresh breezes and frames sweeping views of our regenerated dam and garden, morning light fills your workspace. You have total freedom to leave complex work intact, slide the door closed and dive straight back in when you return.
The Architecture & Layout: Studio Sirona is housed within a striking, minimalist silver Colorbond exterior with an off-center butterfly roof. The stairs to the mezzanine are located right at the entrance, ensuring you can head straight up to work with complete independence. Downstairs is my own dedicated making area, curated with the feel of an organised Victorian parlour of collected domestic objects.
Studio Sirona’s Visiting Artist Program
The Facilities & Amenities: Also located on the lower level are our specialized, communal production spaces. This includes a fully equipped photographic darkroom fitted with a long stainless steel sink to make washing up a breeze and a dedicated ceramics kiln room. You can easily book the spaces at accessible rates while you are here. A shared kitchenette is also on hand to keep you nourished through long creative sessions.
Studio Sirona bridges professional-grade facilities with the relaxed, warm vibes of the Northern Rivers. It’s an ideal environment for emerging artists looking for their first serious studio experience, as well as city-exile artists and full-time professionals needing a focused haven outside of work hours.

Weekend Warrior

The Project Sprint
Rate for : 2 weeks | 14 days

Ideal for local artists taking a brief block of leave to move a creative project forward.

What happens if I need to extend my studio block?
Pending availability, we are always happy to accommodate extensions if your project requires a little more time to breathe. To reward your commitment, your extension is charged at the pro-rata daily or weekly rate of your current booking tier, ensuring you maintain your long-term discount.
Weekend extensions: $95 / day
2-week block extensions: $35 / day or $225 / week
4-week block extensions: $30 / day or $200 / week
6-week block extensions: $25 / day or $180 / week
How much notice do I need to give for an extension?
Because Studio Sirona hosts travelling artists from the Gold Coast, Brisbane, and Sydney who plan their regional production blocks well in advance, extension requests must be submitted at least 7 days prior to your scheduled departure date. Simply chat with Kath in the studio or send an email to check calendar availability.
The Mid-Week Holding Fee: $55 (Includes $5 GST) | To retain your workspace setup securely between consecutive weekend bookings.
Photographic Darkroom Access: $55 (Includes $5 GST) per 4-hour block | Covers chemistry management & exclusive sink use. (Chemicals and photographic paper not included)
Ceramics Kiln Firing Fee: $55 (Includes $5 GST) per full firing | Depending on size and temperature requirement
With the Weekend Booking can I book consecutive weekends and leave my work set up during the week?
Yes, absolutely. We know how disruptive it is to pack up a complex project on a Sunday night when you are balancing a full-time career. If you book consecutive weekends, you can leave your work completely intact on the mezzanine through the Monday–Friday gap for a flat $55 mid-week holding fee. This secures your clean, white-walled canvas so you can dive straight back into your creative flow the following Saturday morning.
